Ben Rush

In 2010 Ben Rush founded AudioLock. As a Technical Director with 15 years programming experience it was originally established as a self-funded project to combat the detrimental effect he witnessed piracy was having on the work of his musician friends. However it rapidly gained momentum as a cost-effective anti-piracy tool, quickly finding favour with 100’s of industry leaders like Domino, Mute, Warp, Ministry of Sound, Ultra Records, Spinnin’ and Toolroom.

Over 30% of the DJ Mag Top 100 are now protected using AudioLock including Bjork, New Order, The Prodigy, Katie Melua, Marilyn Manson, Arctic Monkeys, Primal Scream, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto and Calvin Harris.

The service now consistently delivers as top reporter on Google’s Transparency Report and is trusted by hundreds of music rights holders, at every level and genre, across 5 continents and in over 30 countries.

Ben’s significant knowledge of anti-piracy from both the rights’ holder and technology perspective has made him a much in-demand speaker. He regularly talks at events like the UK Trade and Industry Conference, The Brighton Music Conference, IMS, ADE, IFPI AGM, BPM, Data Summit UK and AudioLock’s own event for AIM members the Music Piracy Prevention Forum.

Ben Rush has presented at a number of key music industry events, to labels and associated bodies. Here he has provided detailed insight into anti-piracy techniques and it's ever changing landscape. His enthusiastic approach, coupled with extensive knowledge and a wealth of technical expertise, has taken him to the forefront of leading edge discussions across the industry as well as into others, such as the impact of advertising networks on the enterprise pirate eco system.

With a background as an international music producer and professional DJ the issues surrounding piracy are very close to his heart; a fact which further fires his passion for efficient and fair solutions to addressing the problems piracy posses.

Ben is available for press comment, interviews, key note speeches at seminars, forums and industry events.
